Welcome to Silvanus Interiors
Silvanus Interiors is a small Yorkshire business established 9 years ago with the aim of filling a growing gap in the current market: the design, manufacture and fitting of bespoke staircases and, more precisely, of curved staircases.
Bespoke furniture design in oak, mahogany and walnut.
Our initial success with curved staircases was soon to be followed by our clients asking to commission pieces of furniture, kitchens, handrails, woodcarving and basically any item made out of timber for inside or outside of their house. This second challenge was answered with the same gusto and by following the same ethics: uncompromising commitment to quality, use of traditional skills and methods of work while using modern technology where applicable and remaining very competitive. To this day, we will take on any commission for as long as it is challenging either technically or aesthetically.
Working alongside architects, interior designers and private clients, we use our vast experience and knowledge of the material to guide them in their choice of timber, the shape and overall design of the piece or any other aspect specific to their project. At the same time, and because of our background, we are perfectly happy to work directly with our clients where we will handle every aspect of the commission, from design to fitting or delivery of the finished piece.
Commissioned bespoke furniture from Silvanus Interiors
In the past 8 years, we have been involved in the design, making and hand carving of a “President’s chair” for Saint Wilfrid’s Church in York, hand carving and gilding of a pair of mirrors for a private client near York, the making of a replicate bandstand for Weston Park in Sheffield as well as countless staircases in Yorkshire, Frome in Sommerset, Stourbridge in the West Midlands, Kilkenny in Ireland and more.
All at Silvanus Interiors, whether management or staff, share the same deep understanding and love of the material we use: wood. As well as the same commitment to excellence and the intrinsic sense that they were given hands and skills in order to help you in a simple quest: to make your house a home.
